Summer is coming to an end and schools all over the country will be back in session within the next few weeks. Millions of Americans are doing their back to school shopping and in my opinion this is a great time of year to include some martial arts gear on that list. Lets face it, our uniforms and gear don't last forever so why not use this time to update your inventory.


Getting a new uniform is kind of like getting new school clothing. I know for me it is always exciting when I get to wear my new uniform to karate class (probably because a new black gi looks a lot better than a faded one). My back to school gi of choice would definitely be the Shureido Black Heavyweight Karate Uniform.


Sparring gear is another great item to have on your back to school shopping list. The Century Leather Wrap Gloves are a great item to have for sparring, pad work, and heavy bag training. I really like the fact that they have awesome wrist support, are made from real leather, and have a comfortable grip bar. These gloves are great for all martial artists no matter what style you practice.


Last on my shopping list is some martial arts apparel. An excellent way to let your classmates know that you do martial arts is by sporting a t-shirt. It is a great way to help you meet people and will give you something to talk about. Hey, you never know, they might want to take martial arts too!


So as you finish up your school shopping don't forget to toss in a few martial arts items to get you back into the swing of things!
